Andrey Sokurec is the founder and CEO of Homestead Road, a best-selling real estate author, and a real estate investor. When he immigrated to Minnesota from Belarus in 2004, he had no money and knew very little English. But that didn’t stop him from carving out his own version of the American Dream.
After working 14-hour days as a loan officer and spending any extra time he had reading books, learning about business and talking to mentors, he saw an opportunity to make his dreams a reality when the real estate market collapsed in 2008. With hardly any money of his own, he took a leap of faith and found a way to buy his first investment property and ended up making a $12,000 profit by flipping it.
That’s when Homestead Road was born, and today they’ve sold more than 1,000 homes and have been added to the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing companies for four years in a row. They’ve recently expanded to Milwaukee and Tampa and have bigger plans for the future.
Andrey believes and hopes his story empowers others to envision a better way. That’s why he wrote “Total Financial Awakening,” which is a fable loosely based on his own experiences. We all deserve to have the freedom of time, money, relationships, and purpose. Whether he is talking to his own employees about how to see their potential or with others looking to start their own real estate investing business and create a passive income, he is dedicated to helping others achieve the best possible version of themselves.
